Hair Removal Techniques Adapted to Your Needs
Our beauty centre offers 3 types of hair removal techniques:
LightSheer Laser
LightSheer devices emit a laser beam that targets the bulb of the hair follicle and reaches deep under the skin (about 3.5 mm below the epidermis). When exposed to heat, the hair and the bulb explode.
However, this highly efficient technique is not suitable for people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, or those with fresh scars or tattoos. Research has also shown that LightSheer hair removal is not appropriate for people taking antibiotics or undergoing acne treatment.
Like any hair removal technique, laser hair removal requires preparation prior to the procedure. The targeted body areas must be carefully shaved beforehand. In addition, clients should avoid any exposure to the sun during the 2 weeks preceding and following the sessions. Furthermore, clients should stop using self-tanners at least two weeks before starting laser treatment, and treated areas shouldn't be subjected to any tanning technique in the two weeks following laser hair removal. Clients should also avoid swimming in pools or in the ocean during this period since chlorine and salt may irritate the skin. Similarly, clients should avoid any contact between the treated areas and alcohol-based products. Waxing, tweezing, and using depilatory creams are strictly contraindicated after laser hair removal. Only shaving is permitted.
It is perfectly normal for the depilated area to be red or slightly swollen after treatment.
Electrolysis
This well-established, highly efficient, and long-term technique lets you get rid of unsightly hairs in sensitive areas of the body, such as the upper lips and eyebrows. It works by inserting a probe into the hair follicle and sending an electric current through it. The current’s intensity is adjusted according to the type of hair being removed and specific characteristics of the targeted areas. Over the course of the treatment, the hair will lose strength and stop growing. For complete hair removal, electrolysis can be combined with laser hair removal.
Waxing
This hair removal technique is particularly effective for removing hairs on the legs, arms, face and armpits. Regrowth in these areas is then smoother and softer.
